The teaching load is 3/3 per semester primarily consisting of higher levels of language and composition courses with the opportunity to teach upper division and graduate courses in area of specialization on a rotational basis. Solid scholarship in area of specialization, excellence in teaching, and service to the Department and University are expected.
Ph.D. in Spanish in hand by August 22, 2005. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English required. Only candidates with specialization and/or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered: Trans-Atlantic Cultural Studies, Spanish for Professions (medical, business or translation), Spanish American Colonial Literature, Golden Age Peninsular, and Spanish for Heritage speakers.
