The Career Services Center at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI seeks a staff member for a centralized career office serving over 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students plus alumni clients. Primary responsibility is to provide career counseling to students and alumni. Additional responsibilities include: serve as the main supervisor for student workers (interviewing, hiring, training, supervising and delegating projects); coordinate and promote internships including the College-to-Work Program; coordinate office presentations to campus groups and classes; develop and present a variety of career programs and seminars; and work with other university departments on collaborative career programming efforts.
Minimum of a master’s degree in a counseling- related field with one year of professional experience in career services preferred. Candidate must demonstrate abilities such as career counseling; building rapport with students, alumni, faculty, and employers; strong verbal and written communication skills; and computer skills. College career services experience preferred. Knowledge of and experience with alumni and experienced job seekers is ideal. Demonstrated proficiency in using career assessment instruments; designing and delivering presentations and using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data bases required.
